FAQ
No – entry to The Limitless Launchpad competition is free. There is no fee to apply or participate. We want to eliminate barriers for talented immigrant founders, not create new ones.
We will select 1 winner for the full prize package (worth £5,000). It’s possible we may also name a couple of runners-up or honorable mentions if there are many exceptional applications, but only the top winner receives the main prize bundle.
Absolutely. We expect you to be at an idea stage. You do not need a finished product, revenue, or a detailed 50-page business plan. The application will ask basic questions about your idea to understand its potential. As long as you can clearly explain what you want to do and why, you’re welcome to apply. The coaching and bootcamp are there to help you develop a solid plan and launch strategy.
Not necessarily. If you haven’t registered your business yet, you can still apply – just ensure you are legally able to register it in the UK when the time comes. Part of the prize (if you win) will involve getting your landing page set up and prepping for launch, which assumes you’ll register your company when ready. If you already have a registered business, that’s great too. We mainly need to confirm that there will be no legal barriers to you operating a business in the UK.
Yes, as long as your visa or residency status allows you to eventually start a business in the UK. This competition is for immigrants, after all! For example, if you’re on a Startup Visa, Graduate Visa, Skilled Worker Visa, or have Indefinite Leave to Remain, etc., you are likely eligible. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us to discuss your situation. We want to include as many aspiring founders as possible, within legal guidelines.
Teams can apply, but only one application per business/idea should be submitted. If you have co-founders, you can nominate one person (ideally an immigrant founder) as the main applicant and mention the other co-founder(s) in the application form. The prize is designed primarily for one founder (for example, one person attending coaching sessions – though a co-founder can join the sessions, and one landing page for the business). We certainly encourage entrepreneurial teams to apply; just make it clear in your application who is on your team. The key is that the business has an immigrant founder and meets the other eligibility criteria.
Outcome-based coaching means our business coaching is focused on achieving specific results. At the start of the 10-week program, you and your coach will set clear goals (outcomes) – for example, validating a key assumption about your market, building a prototype, securing a first customer, etc. Each coaching session will work toward those goals. It’s not just generic advice; it’s structured to help you make tangible progress by the end of the program.
Don’t worry – the video pitch doesn’t need to be polished. We are not judging video production skills, only the clarity and passion for your idea. You can film yourself speaking on your phone or webcam. Just be genuine and explain your idea as you would to a friend. We’re excited to see the person behind the idea. If you’re a bit camera-shy, remember this is good practice – pitching is a key skill for founders, and this is a friendly place to start.
The 10-week coaching program will likely kick off in June (shortly after the winner is announced). Coaching sessions will be arranged at mutually convenient times (probably once a week) and can be conducted virtually (via Zoom/Teams). The digital marketing bootcamp will be a short intensive course – possibly a mix of live online workshops and self-paced materials – scheduled during the 10-week period. We will provide all the details to the winner. Expect to dedicate a few hours each week to these activities. We’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule (e.g., sessions on evenings or weekends if you’re working or studying).
The £500 is intended to help you kickstart your marketing. You can use it for things like online ads (Facebook, Google, etc.), content creation, purchasing a domain or small software tools, or any marketing initiative to attract customers. We will guide you during coaching on the best ways to spend this budget based on your business. (Note: We’ll likely provide the £500 as a prepaid card or reimbursement for campaign expenses – details will be sorted with the winner).
We hope to continue engaging with the community of applicants. While the full prize can only go to one winner, we plan to share helpful resources with all valid applicants – such as invitations to join certain webinars or events with the founders community. Also, if you don’t win this time, don’t be discouraged. This competition may run again in the future, or there may be other programs we can connect you with. We strongly encourage you to stay in touch (follow our social media for updates). The mission is to lift up immigrant entrepreneurs, and that means you!
